Important Note to Prospective Applicants:

Tools, transportation, and experience are required for this role. Please do not apply unless you have:

  • Reliable transportation

  • Tools - drills, screwdrivers, paint brushes, rollers, step ladder, and everything required to complete basic electrical and plumbing work

  • Experience - Qualified applicants must have experience in residential maintenance. Replacing faucets, light fixtures, patching, painting, etc are the basic requirements for this role.

We're seeking an experienced Handyman / Residential Maintenance Specialist to join our team. You'll be travelling to and from our properties throughout the Capital District, completing tasks that include but are not limited to:

  • Repair-work - minor electrical and plumbing, installing and replacing light fixtures, patching, painting, caulking, replacing outlets, installing doors and windows, and troubleshooting issues.

  • Analysis - Walking properties to identify and note potential issues. Making material lists, picking up purchased materials from vendors and installing them.

  • Completing move-out inspections

Requirements-

  • Reliable transportation, a truck would be excellent

  • Must have basic tools, which include a drill, paint brushes, a ladder, and related items

  • Must be willing to travel. We have properties in Albany, Schenectady, Clifton Park, Saratoga, Cohoes, and pretty much all over the place. Our technicians travel daily.

  • Handyman experience is a must! If you've worked for a complex or with a management company before, that's even better.

  • Emergency availability. You will be included in our on-call emergency hotline list. Though rare, you may need to visit apartments after hours. Additional compensation will be provided.

  • Internet access and reliable cellular service. We like to send job details and schedules via email. That way you can just print out your schedule and take it with you. Changes and surprises occur daily. You'll need to be available via phone.

  • People skills! You'll be interacting with tenants on occasion, so it's important that you remain professional and represent our name well.

  • Ability to work independently - Qualified applicants must be able to work independently, track their time, be reliably reachable throughout the day, and complete tasks in expected time frames provided

Responsibilities and Duties-

Basic plumbing and electrical work including but not limited to replacing toilets, replacing faucet drain assemblies, replacing faucets, replacing light fixtures, outlets, and switches.

Patching and painting walls and ceilings, replacing and trimming doors, replacing lock sets, installing digital locks, replacing drop ceiling tiles, troubleshooting leaks, completing property inspections and writing up reports using our inspection software, providing quotes on project work, installing laminate and vinyl flooring, tile and grout work, cleaning up around properties, drywall install, taping, installing cabinets, etc.

Qualifications and Skills-

The following qualifications are required for this role. Failure to possess and illustrate the items below may result in dismissal.

Must have tools necessary to complete work outlined within responsibilities and duties of position.

Reliable transportation is critical

Must be available to work in on-call, after hours rotation.

Ability to write daily summaries of work completed is required for role.

Must be capable of resolving maintenance issues in the field independently and quickly.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $52,000-$56,000 per year

1 week of PTO
